Definition
The hi-vis vest is a high-visibility garment that the driver must wear when leaving the vehicle on an interurban road, especially at night or in low visibility. At least one must be carried on board. Its purpose is to make the driver visible to other vehicles when walking on the shoulder or carriageway.
