CDifficulty 1/5

A car intends to overtake your heavy vehicle. You cannot keep fully to the right edge, but the manoeuvre can be carried out safely. How may you indicate that possibility?

Correct answer

With the prescribed arm signal or the right indicator under the specified conditions.

Extend the arm horizontally and move it repeatedly from back to front, with the back of the hand facing backwards, or use the right indicator when the arm signal is unsuitable. It is the heavy-vehicle driver being overtaken who gives the indication. The signal does not relieve the overtaking driver of checking that the manoeuvre is lawful and safe. Also comply with the duties to facilitate passage and not increase speed.
