Close to the line separating directions, or the centre of the carriageway if no line exists, without occupying the opposing side while positioning. Article 75.1.b governs this preparatory position. Signal and check that turning is safe, yielding to traffic with priority. Executing the turn may require crossing the opposing traffic path when safe; the rule does not mean that this area may never be crossed during a permitted turn.
