Extend the arm horizontally and move it repeatedly from back to front, with the back of the hand facing backwards, under article 86.1. If a hand signal is unsuitable, the right indicator may be used. Neither indication authorises the other driver to overtake without independently checking visibility, signs and safety. The lorry must not accelerate or hinder overtaking and must facilitate passage under article 86’s conditions.
