Fifteen seconds. Article 36.5 bars overtaking if side-by-side time exceeds 15 seconds or distance alongside exceeds 200 metres: both limits must be met. The scenario concerns the special vehicle no heavier than 3,500 kg in Article 36.1, not every special vehicle. Meeting these limits alone does not permit motorway access: Article 38.3 requirements and the other overtaking rules also apply.
