For the two years following licence issue. Article 20 sets a maximum of 0.15 mg/l in breath or 0.3 g/l in blood during that period. Afterwards, the limit appropriate to the driver’s category and activity applies; not everyone automatically moves to the same limit. A legal limit does not ensure risk-free driving: the recommendation is zero alcohol.
