The Spanish Traffic Regulations allow specific cases: when neither forward travel nor changing direction or turning around is possible, or as a necessary complementary manoeuvre, always over the minimum indispensable distance. When complementing stopping, parking or joining traffic, reversing must not exceed 15 metres or enter a junction. It is prohibited on motorways and autovías.
