Correct answer
4 metres as a general rule
It is 4 metres under Annex IX of the General Vehicle Regulations. Exceptions exist for certain vehicles and transport operations; it is not a universal figure for every case. The authorised height does not permit passing beneath an obstacle or height-restriction sign imposing a lower clearance.
