During the knowledge test for the D1+E and D+E licences, the applicant uses a mobile phone to receive information from another person without authorisation. What is the consequence?

Correct answer

Exclusion from the test with loss of that attempt

The applicant is excluded from the knowledge test and loses that attempt. Annex VI. A.4 of the General Driver Regulations prohibits using devices to receive or transmit information during tests, subject to specified exceptions. Authorised systems used by the DGT and intercom equipment provided for certain practical tests do not authorise an applicant to receive telephone assistance in the knowledge test.
