BDifficulty 2/5

You drive a car without a trailer on a conventional road with no physical separation between directions, no lower specific limit and no conditions requiring a further speed reduction. What is the general speed limit when overtaking a lorry?

Correct answer

At 90 km/h.

90 km/h under Article 48. Overtaking does not permit exceeding the applicable limit: the former extra 20 km/h allowance was removed. Also respect overtaking prohibitions, visibility and adequate space. Being within the limit does not guarantee that the manoeuvre can be completed safely.
