Unless justified special circumstances apply, prescribed signs must be obeyed even when they appear inconsistent with driving-behaviour rules, under Article 132. This does not mean ignoring precedence for officer orders or other signals under Article 133. Follow the signal applicable to your movement, not any sign intended for another road, lane or user.
