Correct answer

Indicate to the vehicle intending to overtake, using the arm or the right-hand indicator, that it can do so safely.

The driver of the heavy lorry being overtaken must facilitate the manoeuvre. In this situation, indicate the possibility to the approaching driver by extending the arm horizontally and moving it repeatedly backwards and forwards with the back of the hand facing backwards, or by using the right indicator when the arm signal is considered unsuitable. This duty belongs to the heavy vehicle being overtaken; the overtaking vehicle need not be heavy. The signal does not relieve that driver of checking that overtaking is safe.
