Correct answer
In a rear seat with an approved restraint suitable for height and weight.
In a rear seat, using an approved child restraint appropriate for height and weight and installed as specified by the manufacturer. An adult belt alone does not replace the required restraint. A front seat with a restraint is allowed only in Article 117’s three cases: no rear seats, all rear seats occupied by children of those characteristics, or inability to install all required restraints there. A rear-facing front-seat restraint requires that seat’s frontal airbag to be deactivated.
