BDifficulty 3/5

On a narrow road, waiting on the carriageway to make a U-turn would block vehicles behind. It is possible to leave the carriageway safely on the right. Where must you wait until the manoeuvre can be performed?

Correct answer

Off the carriageway on its right-hand side.

Leave the carriageway on the right and wait until conditions permit the U-turn. Article 78 requires this when waiting on the carriageway blocks following vehicles and leaving on the right is possible. Choose a permitted location, signal in advance and check that nobody is endangered or obstructed. Do not perform the manoeuvre if its conditions are not met or it is prohibited.
