BDifficulty 2/5

On a two-way carriageway, a passenger car clearly signals a left turn and another vehicle can pass it on the right with enough space and safety. How should the car position itself to facilitate this?

Correct answer

Keep left without entering or obstructing opposing traffic.

Keep as far left as possible within its permitted position without interfering with opposing traffic. Do not enter the left side reserved for oncoming vehicles. Article 86 requires facilitating overtaking without increasing danger; the overtaking driver must meet their own conditions. A turn signal does not automatically permit anyone to pass on the right without sufficient space or safety.
