What internal-combustion engine-capacity threshold does the General Vehicle Regulations definition specify for a two-wheeled motorcycle without a sidecar?

Correct answer

More than 50 cubic centimetres

An engine capacity greater than 50 cm³. Annex II of the General Vehicle Regulations also allows motorcycle classification by a maximum design speed greater than 45 km/h. These are alternative criteria: motorcycles do not all share a minimum engine capacity, and electric motorcycles have no combustion-engine capacity. The capacity threshold is not greater than 125 or 1,000 cm³.
