It allows air that has entered the hydraulic circuit to be removed. Compressible air bubbles impair pressure transmission and braking effectiveness. It is neither a maximum-pressure regulator nor the reservoir filling point. This differs from draining condensation from the air reservoirs of a pneumatic system. Bleeding must follow the manufacturer’s procedure; there is no universal interval or guarantee that bleeding alone resolves every fault.
