Improve road illumination in the conditions permitted by article 106, such as fog, heavy rain, snowfall or smoke or dust clouds. It may also be used on specified narrow road sections with signed closely spaced bends under that article. It is not an emergency signal or a bend warning: it is forward lighting. Do not confuse it with rear fog lighting, whose use is limited to particularly adverse conditions.
