Stop and rest periodically, and start the journey well rested. Plan breaks and stop sooner if you notice fatigue or drowsiness, in a safe place. Driving through without rest increases risk; alcohol is not a safe driving stimulant and can worsen attention and drowsiness. Opening windows or turning up music does not replace rest. Any statutory rest requirements for professional transport must also be observed.
