Correct answer
At the beginning of the acceleration lane.
At the beginning of the lane under Article 72.4. Check the position, trajectory and speed of vehicles on the main carriageway and give way. Then, when safe, accelerate to reach an appropriate speed at the end of the lane for joining. Do not deliberately wait until the end to make the initial check: that leaves less space to accelerate. If danger arises later, avoid a collision; the rule does not require joining or continuing into an obstruction.
