One of the fundamental principles when driving a vehicle or acting as a pedestrian is to see and be seen. We must use every means available to see the road properly, for example lighting, and to be seen, for example by wearing reflective clothing when leaving the vehicle. Overtaking should not be carried out unless there is a justified reason, and pedestrians should not always be given priority.
