Check your licence points in Spain: how

You can check your Spanish licence points for free through miDGT, using the DGT online portal or its official mobile app. You can identify yourself with DNI electrónico, Cl@ve PIN or a digital certificate. If you have no digital access, you can check your balance in person at a Provincial Traffic Office with your physical DNI.

We are not the DGT.

Where to see your balance: miDGT and the online portal

If you are searching for DGT points or a points balance check, the service you need is the balance consultation. The online portal is at sede.dgt.gob.es and the official application is called miDGT. This page explains the consultation options: you need to view your personal balance with the DGT rather than on an exam preparation website. Choose the website or app according to how you want to access that information.

How to check your points step by step

  1. Choose where to check

Use the DGT online portal at sede.dgt.gob.es to check your balance through miDGT, or use the official miDGT mobile app.

  2. Prepare your identification

For digital access, use DNI electrónico, Cl@ve PIN or a digital certificate: these are the identification methods for checking your points.

  3. Open the points consultation

Sign in with your chosen method and check the balance associated with your licence; the consultation is free.

  4. Review the balance and dates

Check how many points remain and when you last lost points: read both details to understand the balance you are looking at.

If you do not have a digital certificate

A digital certificate is not the only option: DNI electrónico and Cl@ve PIN are also available. If you cannot use any of the digital options, the alternative is to visit a Provincial Traffic Office with your physical DNI to check your points. For information about these offices, see the guide to Traffic Offices.

What to look for in the consultation

Review the points you have left and when you last lost points. These are the details to distinguish when reading your balance: how many points you retain and when the loss occurred are different pieces of information. Start with the information in miDGT to understand your position, then consult the recovery guide if your question is how to regain points.
