Article 36.5 prohibits overtaking in the cases it governs if travelling alongside exceeds 15 seconds or 200 metres. Both limits must therefore be observed: no more than 15 seconds and no more than 200 metres. Meeting one does not permit exceeding the other. All other overtaking, signalling, priority, visibility and safe-clearance requirements also apply. The provision’s exception concerns bicycles performing the overtake, not every two-wheeled vehicle.
