Sit astride with feet on the lateral footrests, on the designated seat behind the driver. Vehicle authorisation, helmet and age are additional requirements. The age rule has an exception for children older than seven with a parent, guardian or authorised adult; there is no absolute prohibition covering every child younger than twelve.
