From first registration, not purchase. Motorcycles under the ordinary regime are exempt up to four years and then inspected every two years. The rule counts age from the first registration or entry into service recorded in the Vehicle Register. Driving-school use has a different regime; check the use before applying this period. Observe the applicable expiry date and do not confuse the initial exemption with a permanent exemption.
