Correct answer
is greater than when the road surface is dry.
It increases compared with a dry surface offering better grip. There is no universal “up to double” ceiling: the difference depends on grip, tyre and brake condition, speed and other circumstances. Reduce speed, increase your gap and brake progressively and under control. Braking distance starts when the brakes act; stopping distance also includes the distance travelled during reaction time.
