Before an A1 or A2 practical test, the examiner requests the applicant’s required identification documents and the applicant does not present them. What happens under Annex VI of the General Driver Regulations?

The test does not begin and the attempt is not lost

The examiner will decide that the test must not begin, without this causing the applicant to lose an attempt. Annex VI. A.3 requires identification for practical skills and behaviour tests and related procedures. It does not permit taking the test without identification. Present the appropriate document among those admitted by the regulations.
