BDifficulty 2/5

A car turns right into another road while a pedestrian is crossing that road. There is no marked crossing or conflicting officer instruction or traffic light. Who has priority?

Correct answer

The pedestrian.

The pedestrian. Article 65.1.b requires yielding when a vehicle turns into the road the pedestrian is crossing, even without a marked pedestrian crossing. The driver must observe and turn without endangering the pedestrian. Absence of a marked crossing does not give the car priority in this case.
