For headlamps allowing vertical and horizontal adjustment, what does aiming them involve?

Correct answer

Adjusting, horizontally and vertically, the beam of light projected by the headlamps.

Aim the beam in both planes to vehicle specifications, providing proper illumination without glare. Follow manufacturer testing conditions, load, tyre pressures and procedure. A beamsetter may be used; a wall method is appropriate only where the specified procedure allows it. Some systems require diagnostics or calibration. It does not mean aiming as low as possible or changing the physical width of the lamp.
