The ITV technical card. A light trailer has a maximum authorised mass no greater than 750 kg and does not require its own registration certificate; a non-light trailer requires that certificate as well as its ITV card. Article 26 of the General Vehicle Regulations requires the relevant documents; having an ITV card is distinct from the periodic inspection schedule for each category.
