BDifficulty 2/5

How will we warn of our intention to brake considerably on a motorway?

Correct answer

Using the brake lights.

Where possible, warn of substantial braking by repeated use of the brake lights. The rules also allow moving the arm alternately up and down with short, quick movements, not from left to right. Do not compromise control of the vehicle. If immobilised on a motorway or dual carriageway, signal its presence with hazard lights if fitted and sidelights where applicable. A direction indicator signals a lateral movement or stopping or parking on that side; it does not replace a braking warning.
