If visibility decreases while you follow another vehicle in a vehicle for persons with reduced mobility, what should you do in addition to reducing speed?

Correct answer

Increase the safety distance

Increase the safety distance to leave more margin, while adapting speed so that you can stop within the visible distance under Article 45. Do not move closer to follow the vehicle’s lights: that reduces reaction and braking margins. Keep observing the surroundings and using mirrors; extra following distance does not compensate for excessive speed for the available visibility.
