In a non-priority car, in which of these situations does Article 110 permit a brief, non-shrill audible warning?

Correct answer

To warn of the intention to overtake outside a built-up area.

To warn another driver outside a built-up area of your intention to overtake. Warnings are also permitted to avoid a possible accident, especially on narrow roads with many bends, and in the exceptional Article 70 urgent-service situation. Bends alone do not authorise continuous horn use: unmotivated or excessive use is prohibited. An audible warning does not grant priority or make an unsafe overtake safe.
