BDifficulty 2/5

In a passenger car with up to nine seats including the driver, how must children 135 cm tall or shorter normally travel?

Correct answer

With a suitable child restraint and, as a general rule, in rear seats.

With an approved child restraint suitable for height and weight, normally in rear seats, under article 117.3. The limit includes exactly 135 cm. A front seat may be used if there are no rear seats, if they are already occupied by children of that height or if all necessary restraints cannot be installed there; a rear-facing front restraint requires disabling the frontal airbag. Install and use the restraint according to its manufacturer’s instructions.
