BDifficulty 2/5

In which position is it advisable to place a baby's approved car seat?

Correct answer

Rear-facing, with their back facing forward

Rear-facing, using an approved restraint suitable for the baby and compatible with the vehicle, always following its instructions. This orientation better protects the head and neck in frontal impacts; it does not equally reduce forces in every kind of impact. DGT recommends retaining it as long as possible within the restraint’s limits. Regulations must not be reduced to a universal duty only until one year old. If used in a permitted front seat, the frontal airbag must be disabled.
