Tell them to lean naturally with the rider, remain behind them and avoid sudden movements. Leaning the opposite way or initiating a lean independently can destabilise the motorcycle. Keep feet on the passenger footrests and use the handholds or support agreed before departure. The rider must adapt speed and riding to the added weight while keeping a safe path within the lane; carrying a passenger does not always require a wider line or an earlier turn.
