A1Difficulty 3/5

On a motorway, with no traffic, road or vehicle circumstances justifying slower travel, what is a motorcycle’s general minimum speed?

Correct answer

At 60 kilometres per hour.

60 km/h. Article 49 prohibits travelling below 60 km/h on motorways and dual carriageways without a justified reason. Lower speeds are permitted when traffic, vehicle or road circumstances prevent maintaining a higher speed safely. For example, do not accelerate to 60 km/h in a queue or with insufficient visibility. Also observe maximum limits and adapt speed to conditions.
