Correct answer
The rider’s experience and ability to guide the group safely.
Choose an experienced rider who knows the route and adapts the pace to the group’s abilities, within speed limits and safe conditions. The DGT recommends experienced riders at the front and rear. A motorcycle’s lower power or longer fuel range does not by itself determine who should lead. Each participant remains responsible for their own riding and must not speed or overtake unsafely to keep the group together.
