Roadworks require a lane operating against its usual direction. A mixed passenger-and-goods vehicle is authorised on that road and has no specific access prohibition. May it use that lane?

Correct answer

Yes, since it is authorised on the road and not expressly prohibited.

Yes. Article 41 permits all vehicle types authorised on the road in lanes provided for roadworks, except where expressly prohibited; this is not limited to cars and motorcycles or mixed vehicles carrying passengers. The cars-without-trailers and motorcycles restriction concerns lanes provided for traffic flow. Use at least dipped headlights by day and night. Limits are 60 to 80 km/h, or lower if established or specifically signed, without prejudice to slowing for safety. Do not move laterally into the normal-direction lanes, even to overtake.
