Correct answer
Indicate to the vehicle intending to overtake, using the arm or the right-hand indicator, that it can do so safely.
The lorry driver being overtaken must facilitate the manoeuvre; the rule does not require the overtaking vehicle to be heavy. In the stated conditions, if the lorry cannot keep fully to the right but the overtake remains safe, the driver indicates this with a horizontal arm moved repeatedly backwards and forwards, back of the hand facing rearwards, or the right indicator when using the arm is considered unsuitable. Do not accelerate. If conditions prevent an easy, safe overtake, slow down or use a practicable shoulder; if danger arises during the manoeuvre, cooperate as required by Article 86.
