A1Difficulty 3/5

Through the ordinary route, which prior valid licence must you hold to obtain a class A licence?

Correct answer

From the class A2 licence with a minimum of two years' standing

You must hold a valid A2 licence for at least two years and meet the other requirements, including the required training. A1 or B alone is insufficient. The general minimum age for A is20; riding motor tricycles over 15 kW requires 21. A authorises motorcycles and motor tricycles; it does not by itself authorise every quadricycle.
