No. Since 1 October 2026, Article 36.2 no longer retains the former exception allowing two-wheeled mopeds to ride two abreast on the shoulder. The two-abreast exception concerns bicycles. Mopeds must use the shoulder if it is passable and sufficient, or otherwise only the essential part of the carriageway. Do not confuse continued side-by-side riding with an overtake subject to its own rules.
