M-6.5 requires giving way to vehicles on the carriageway you are approaching, stopping if necessary at the give-way line. Unlike STOP, it does not require a stop in every case, and it does not grant a priority lane. If placed in a lane bounded by longitudinal markings, the obligation applies to vehicles in that lane. The illustration shows only the road marking, without an added vertical sign.
