Check that you can join safely, consider the position, course and speed of vehicles already travelling and give way to them. Signal as prescribed and, if necessary, use another person’s guidance without transferring your responsibility. Article 73 requires other drivers to facilitate joining where possible; this does not remove the joining car’s duty to give way.
