Correct answer
The vehicle technical inspection card.
The vehicle’s technical inspection card. Neither the purchase contract nor the municipal tax receipt replaces that technical documentation. For vehicles with an electronic ITV card, Directive VEH 2024/13 permits checking available data in the Vehicle Register and prevents refusing to begin the inspection solely for lack of these paper documents. If the vehicle does not have an electronic ITV card, its original card must be presented so that recorded modifications that may not be digitised can be checked. Compulsory insurance must be valid and established through the procedure; this does not mean every driver must carry a paper receipt.
