BDifficulty 2/5

Which system reduces the risk of the wheels locking in the event of sudden braking?

Correct answer

ABS.

ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) modulates braking pressure to prevent wheel lock and help retain steering capability. It does not guarantee that the vehicle never skids, that every collision is avoided or that stopping distance is always shortened. Grip, tyres, speed and the surface remain important. A brake booster reduces pedal effort but does not itself perform the anti-lock function.
