Steering control can be lost or the vehicle can skid. A locked wheel stops rotating while the vehicle still moves; locking is not simply slower rotation. ABS regulates braking to limit lock-up and help retain control, without removing grip limits. Follow your vehicle’s braking instructions. Lock-up does not guarantee an immediate, safe stop.
