Observe traffic, including mirrors and blind spots, and check that the manoeuvre can be performed safely. Then signal in advance and position correctly without cutting across other vehicles. Enter the deceleration lane at its start and reduce speed within it, unless safety requires earlier slowing. If you cannot exit safely, continue to another exit.
