A2Difficulty 3/5

A motorcycle has two equivalent side panniers approved by the manufacturer. When loading both within their limits, how should weight be distributed?

Correct answer

Both side panniers should be loaded with approximately the same weight

Approximately evenly between both sides, following the motorcycle and pannier instructions. Observe their limits and the vehicle’s, secure the load and place heavy items as specified by the manufacturer. A rear case does not necessarily need the same weight as each side pannier. Load can alter stability and braking even when balanced: adapt riding and the specified adjustments.
