All B licence questions · DGT question bank

An adult driver has held an AM driving permit for over two years and has just obtained B. They drive a private car not providing a service subject to a special alcohol limit. What maximum breath alcohol level applies?

Correct answer

0.25 milligrams per litre of exhaled air.

The general limit: 0.25 mg per litre of breath. AM is a driving permit and its seniority counts; obtaining B does not by itself restart the two-year period. This differs from the separate statutory category of driving licences, whose age counts only for vehicles they authorise. Minors have a zero limit and certain transport operations have a lower limit; the question excludes them. The safest choice is no alcohol.
